Wayyy off Topics - not sure where to post this - Tractor
« on: March 15, 2010, 11:58:31 AM »
I find myself in need of purchasing a tractor, Kubota has one that meets my needs however , if I go the financing route through Kubota they require an additional $20.00 a month for ON/OFF road driving insurance, Fire , Theft, Flood. Thats 220.00 a year!!!! I have a call into state farm to see if this is something that can be covered under my homeowers Ins, or if something they can cover at less cost with a rider since I have my Home Truck , camper Etc.. already with them.

Question , do any of you know Ins. companies that provide tractor INS at a reasonable rate ?  $20.00 a month seems ridiculous to me , I understand their need to protect their asset as long as I am financing , but please Kubota is just gouging with a gimmick IMHO. There has to be cheaper INS out their. any help much appreciated

Since it's about a tractor that sounds to me like Gardening. OK farming maybe but we do talk of the use of such in the Gardening Forum.

As to your question I went down that same road when I bought my John Deere. I found my Home Owner's and Auto insurance companies neither one really wanted to write the policy on it and to do so wanted tons more money than JD did. Since I financed with JD I also bought the needed insurance with them but it sure wasn't any $20 a month.

Still from what I saw back then you aren't gonna get any auto or home owner's insurance company to beat even that price.

I'll have to check, I bought a Kubota a couple of years back and they financed it. Dont remember the gouge insurance tho. Seems like it wasn't that much then, I'll let you know what I find out.

they did finance cheap so I may have overlooked the insurance thang!
