Unique and heavy 41 mag bullets

I just ordered a 260 grain 41 mag mold and was wondering if anyone has any loads using unique for this bullet. Thanks, Charlie

Charlie, I took a large cow elk last fall with a 250 gr LBT WFN using 9.2grs of Unique, not a maximum load but had complete penetration & she never took a step.

I generally use 2400, H110, some 4227 for the heavy bullets 250 and over. Never considered using unique tho I do for cast plinking loads in the 200-235 gr range.

Seems to me the 2010 Hodgdon's manual has loads for about the widest range of bullet in the 41 mag including the heavy cast bullets. Of course you won't find Unique there.  I should look in my old small Lyman book (1980's?). It has loads for a lot of older now barely known bullets for all sorts of cartridges.

I looked in my old Lyman cast bullet book dated 1973. The heaviest bullet they listed was a round nose 240 gr. VERY differently shaped than the LBT style bullets, much less lead getting engraved. Unique was listed,  but I didn't write it down.  PM me if you want the details. I sure think a little slower powder would be a better (safer) way to go.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Dand I have Lymans cast handbook. I am using the data on the 240 grain bullet for my Lee 240 grainer.
