? on SB2 action
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:48:05 AM »
I was wondering if any cal: can be fitted to a SB2 action even though the cal. is small like a 22 hornet
will a 308,243, 280 fit the action?

I am fairly sure any centerfire round can be fitted to the SB2. Still waiting on a 50 BMG option myself. ;D

Yes, all centerfire rifle barrels can be fitted to the SB2 frame, if they don't just jump right on.

22 hornet
223 Rem
22-250

I also got a 410 barrel to lockup on the same receiver but I didn't check the fit or function.  Not sure about the shotgun barrel on the SB2.

Just so no one is misunderstanding....If you're referring to fitting yourself, yes, but that doesn't apply to accessory barrels fitted by H&R, they won't fit any * marked barrels to SB2 frames made before 2000 (including the 45LC barrel which isn't marked with an * if they ever get offer them again) and they won't fit any rifle barrels other than 357 and 44 mag to SB2 frames made '96-'99.  ;)

Ed Hubel loads up some very wild creatures in his Handi shotguns using modified 50 cal cases with up to  750 gr bullets . in addation to the 12gaFH he also has made them all the way up to 8ga. Check out his posts in here. Very interesting read and neat guns (as long as I don't have to fire one!Pete you might like 8ga it will be a step up from your 20mm  ;D
