Doublestar M4
« on: January 29, 2010, 02:58:48 PM »
Just put a hold on a new Doublestar M4 for my wife.  $650 seems cheap for a new one.  Anybody care to share their experiences shooting ARs or M4s from Doublestar?  I load for my kid's AR and I shoot it from time to time but don't get involved in the maintenance and/or repair.  This is just going to be a 100 yard range plinker for my wife.

thanks

My AR is simple to take apart, If you're just buying it for plinking you won't need any of the special tools. The bolt and assembly can all be taken apart buy hand in my RRA. I know a few guys that use Doublestar lowers for their AR builds with no problems

DoubleStar is one of the many 'parts suppliers' that are around.  Then they started building their own guns.  Good, solid product.  It's also a family owned company that you can be proud to support.  Enjoy!  44 Man

On Budsgunshop.com they are selling these around $650 shipped and many of the owners have posted very positive reviews on them.  That's gotta count for something.

Mine (auctually my wife's) M-4 came from Buds. My friend up the street also bought one.  Gun shoots great.  My wife put a couple of hundred of my handloads (36 & 50 grain Varmit Gernades) through it yesterday.  Shot well and no jams!  Very happy with the gun and the price.

Nothing wrong with Double Star. All prices are coming down some, we should all be glad. Go for it and enjoy.
