Jake, I just recieved a a catalog from E. Arthur Brown Co. the other day. They list a thumbhole stock set for the Encore . The complete set is listed at $189 . I bought a laminated stock set from them a couple months ago. That set was made by Boyd. The quality and fit was excellent, as was their service. I see Fox Ridge sells the same laminated stocks at a much higher price. Check them out.

Good Luck

Rookie, Can't tell you about the thumbhole stock.  I just mentioned I bought my laminated stocks from E.A.Brown. to let you know of the quality of their product and their service. The laminated stocks are not thumbhole design.

I once thought about the thumbhole stock but then figured that I would have to completely reset my grip to cock the hammer. I still use the factory stock.

I got the Fox Ridge Thumb Hole stock for one of my contenders and it is a nice set-up.  BUT, the point about cocking the hammer is a valid concern.  I still like mine but would not want to use it for deer hunting where movment and quickness might be an issue.  GOOD SHOOTIN',  Walt
