Deer signs?
« on: September 15, 2010, 02:26:30 PM »
You fella's seeing a lot of deer movement yet?  They are not movin much in the daylight around these parts.  I've got herds of does and fawns coming to my feeders, and I've got enough turkey that it looks like a turkey convention.  Of course the turkeys will be somewhere else come spring.....

I've got one rub that I have to stand on my tip toes to reach the top of..tall deer!  He hasn't shown up yet on the camera.  I've got to pull my feeders soon before muzzie season opens, so I hope they will still come lookin'.

Been out scouting a couple of times and seen a few trails. Seen a few good looking spots I plan on hunting a little later in the season.
It's so dry that tracks are hard to tell how old they are. I hunt on a fence row of oak trees many times during the season because it's close to the house and I can get in the stand right after work. Usually the ground is covered with fresh tracks by this time. So far there isn't as many signs as I was hoping for.
Planing on putting up another stand this weekend in some young planted pines. I have wanted to hunt there for a couple years but it's been so dense visibility was only a few yards.

Here in middle Ga. we been planting food plots, tilled one day, seed the next. Plenty of tracks in the fresh dirt. Have found several fresh scrapes (no leaves in them and on 1 occasion fresh pee).  We has plentyof Muscadime on bushes and Persinommes (sorry if misspelled).  Have seen Turkey will Bow hunting, but no deer. We have plenty of night pictures on trail cams. Below are some cam pictures. Only 1 during "shootin" light.
