35Gr V-max in 22 hornet using 2400 powder

Has anyone played with this set-up? I was thinking about winging it starting at 10.5 to 11 grains. An old friend long gone now had a pet load for his hornet, probably 40Gn bullets, and if memory serves me right( LOL) he was using 10 grains of 2400, he was an old-timer back then and I was just a kid, never paid much attention to the recipes, just liked to make it go bang!

Alliant shows a Max load of 11.5g of 2400 with a 33g TNT , so 10.5g would be a good starting point , I have used the 35g V-max with good results in the Hornet but not with that powder .

Thanks Stimpy, the reason I want to use that powder is I have quite a bit of it. It's the old go into a new gunshop and not wantng to leave wothout buying something, so I would buy a pound of 2400 and just put it away, the other day I dug them out and found four pounds plus one started, many senior moments LOL

If I remember correctly, 2400 got its name because it drove the first Hornet bullets at 2400fps. However, it looks like ACC 1680 and L'il Gun may be the go-to powders for the Hornet if you want to try something else when you use up the 2400.
