TC Greyhawk .54
« on: March 13, 2010, 05:19:23 AM »
Hey guys, I seen one of these for sale on another post. Looking pretty sweet imo.
Are there any owners of one of these that would like to share their experiences.
As well, what is the rate of twist on these.

I have a new one in 50 cal have never shot it a friend has one in 54 and he uses the buffalo bullets in his. I changed out the composit stock with a nice walnut one from a black mountain and it looks great.
I believe the twist is 1-28 but you can go on TC web site to get twist rate for all their barrels. I saw a 54 at last gun show very vice and only 150.00 and I saw one at a local pawn for 165.00 and also saw a fellow at one of the gun shows with one very nice with a tang peep for 175.00. I really like mine, just have never had a chance to shoot it, seem to be well made and with TC lifetime how can you go wrong.

I've got a Grey Hawk in 54. 24 inch barrel and 1 in 48 twist. Shots round ball with no problem. one inch groups at 75 yards. Did not have much luck with the Maxi-Ball. You will love it. Very easy to clean. Only recommendation I would make is to change out the standard nipple with a T/C hot shot nipple.

Thanks fellas, I think I'll give the Lee REAL boolit a go,. seems to shoot quite good outta my TC Hawken & Renegade.
What I also like is it will be a perfect match my Encore (the 1 in my avatar).  I was looking at the TC Firestorm but too pricey, almost double.
I seen this puppy & the price and have to have it.
Good shooting ;)
