LAR 45 Win Mag Grizley
« on: March 18, 2010, 03:48:22 AM »
Ok here we go I had a fellow bring into the Pawn shop a LAR Grizley (sp) 45 Win Mag. does anyone have one and how do you like it?  I remember the 45 Mag. but it didnt catch my eye and if he leaves it I will probably only bring it home as a play toy here on the farm, or just a safe queen to show to others.  Do you like yours or not?   Jim

I have two and they are nice.
More of a handful than a standard 1911, but not hard to shoot.

Ammo is now more plentiful but still not truly common.
They are less of a handful than the 50AE version, which I also have, by  quite a bit.

I have more than one of each as I intended to modify one .45 Win. Mag. to  .475 Wildey, but I could not get a barrel and now I do not have shop available, but I spoke with Mr. Huntington of JRH, and he said he can do it for me.
We did not set an exact price but he was speaking of hundreds, not thousands of dollars in cost.
