springfield .69 rifled musket( repo.)
« on: March 09, 2010, 03:58:24 AM »
Hello was wondering if anyone has one of these it is made by armi. How well does it shoot, what is your load. I will be useing it to shoot steel silhouette targets at 75 and 100 yards. And  for hunting I will change out the rear sight to get some windage and grind off front sight a put brass blade there.I just can not find much info on how they shoot just want to know before I get one.Hopeing it will hold a 2 inch group at those ranges with the right load and I can do my part. The only one I have seen only the front barrel band was tight the other two were lose and i mean real lose the guy was going to send it back to dixie. The reason I want the .69 rifled is these are full size steel targets and I have seen .58 have trouble knocking down some rams and the buffalo at our shoots it is round ball only if it was minies I would go to the .58 .   Thanks for any help Roger

I have one, shoot swaged minnies from Dixie. With 80 or 90 grains of Goex 2f.I'm shooting man sized silhouette targets.Never have tried it for groups.Seems to be pretty accurate.

Go to the North-South Skirmish Association forum. You should be able to get some help there.
Take care,
