Does anyone what legal steps that you have to take to keep live coyotes? Do you know if they need to be started as pups or will adults live well? I'm not wanting a pet it would be nice to collect urine and watch how it does things, just intresting.

Regulations vary from state to state concerning the keeping of wild animals.  The last time I got a permit here in Michigan to keep two fox, the permit was $25.00 and had to be approved by a DNR officer.  A young officer, just out of college and training school came out and give me a lecture, saying things like "Fox have razor sharp teeth you know and the bite too."  I just had to play along with the interview saying "I'll keep all this in mind and be very careful."  LOL!  Ace :-)

Do you have intentions on taming a coyote or what? That would be interesting. I've gone as far as to capture a squirrel when he was young. I still have him today. Mild and tame as hell, too!

Moose Hunter:
I had a number of pet tame coyotes over the years.  These were pups that were dug from dens before their eyes were open.  The male coyotes were pretty good and interesting pets but a 1 1/2 year old female tried to kill my Mother.  Once the female coyote come into heat, it hated all females anywhere around, including my Mother and the family Airdale.
