Encore build almost complete
« on: March 18, 2010, 03:02:38 PM »
Just about done.  Still need to rub in some more coats of oil, but the stock is coming along nicely.  Today I installed the Stratton Custom scope base and teflon coated (Black Ice) Warne rings.  Zeiss3-9x40 scope.  Sims recoil pad.
20 gauge Pro Hunter for lower Michigan whitetail hunting.

Thats a nice looking outfit.  Having a good trigger / barrel and scope combo makes hunting with a shotgun pretty enjoyable.

I've done some mods to the trigger and now it's a crisp 2.5lbs.

I'd put another scope ring on the front if it were me.  Probably not necessary, but I like the looks and extra hold.

I admit a third ring would look cool, but the cost of buying another pair of Warnes, then sending them to Black Ice for the teflon isn't worth it to me.  The recoil on this 20ga is moderate; nothing a normal ring/base set up can't handle.
Now if someone has an extra Warne ring they'd like to part with, that might sway me... ;D
