4th generation Colt SA?

It was mentioned in the current issue of American Handgunner that Colt is currently buying all new machine equipment and may be expanding their handgun lines. The magazine said that they will have a future article on the new Colt SA made on the new equipment. This might perk my interest in a new Colt .45 if this is the case and they do not price it to high. Anyone else hearing rumors?

I've heard that Colt says there are no 4th gen SAAs? Just 1st, 2nd, & 3rd gen.

John Taffin has commented that the new Colt single actions are absolutely first rate. He credits to their new Lady CEO - who apparently is a stickler for quality control. They are priced above the new U.S. Firearms prices.

I have handled & shot the new SAAs & they are very good guns. I wouldn't be afraid to buy one!

i think colt is awsome but the price is more than the avg guy can afford but u get what you pay for

One thing we need to remember is that a Colt is a Colt everything else is a copy no matter how well made they are. The new 3rd gen guns are well built & accurate. ;)

The prettiest and best-feeling/handling single-actions are Colts.  Nothing else like them.  All others are copies.  That said, they are not for stout loads, and I've read articles that said that a buyer takes a chance on whether he will get one that is tuned correctly.  It might be accurate or might not be.  Still, I'd love to have one of any generation.

I would not hesitate to buy a new 3rd gen. Colt SAA I'd prefer to examine it beforehand, but would buy one. I've handled & shot new 3rd gen guns & they are top rate. They are nice guns, & they are a Colt.  ;)  DO NOT USE HEAVY RUGER LOADS IN THEM!  :P

I've read that they have gone back to 20 lpi threads on the barrels like the 1st and 2nd gen Colt's have.  That will help parts interchangability better than the oddball 28 lpi that the 3rd gen gun are using.  44 Man
