wanted; goldeye recipe
« on: January 31, 2005, 04:13:07 PM »
Smoked goldeye is a Winnipeg delicacy, but I hate smoked fish. Well actually I hate smoked salmon, never tried goldeye, and might like it. Anyways I found a spot where I could catch my limit in less then an hour and I want to know if anyone knows a way of cooking them besides smoking.

:D kevin.303, I hear they are mushy and not that good when fresh. They look like alot like herring to me and should probably be treated about the same. (Pickled or smoked). If you scroll on down to the pickled salmon thread, I explained a method I use for pickling fish. Should work OK for goldeye.
