Starting next year i may be spending the winters in arizona and would like to set up a encore rifle with two barrels. One for big game and one for varmit and antolpoe. My thoughts are 308 or 06 for big game and 243 or22-250 for the rest.
What would you advise? keep in mind i am small framed, not afraid of recoil but do want to enjoy setting down at the shooting bench with the gun and i do reload.

maybe a 2506 would handle all you needs.

CKNight is correct,
Don't buy a compromise barrel, buy one you want for a task, before you know it, you'll be justifying to yourself why you need the 308 and the 30-06.... It's a disease I tell you...

I would go with a 7mm Mag or 300 Win mag with Brake and a 220 swift.

Thanks for the replys guys. Sorry it took me so long to get back but rifle season is open here and i'm beat by the end of the day. After reading your suggestions at least I know I am thinking in the rite lines. I know what an addiction the encore might be, I have two TC frames and five barrles now. I was thinking about just getting rifle barrels for the TC but just don't feel the 7x30 would realy be up to doing a proper job on elk. As fare as the mag barrels go, i've had two tc barrels with brakes and they are just to loud for me. I could try down loading the mags for range shooting. :roll: Oh man such delimma's to solve.
