From left to right the bullets are a (1) Lyman 386178 hollow-base (bottom also shown on hollow-base bullets), (2) Rapine 386185 hollow-base, (3) Custom Lee combination heel & hollow-base, (4) heavy Old West heel-base, (5) light Old West heel-base, (6) Lyman 386177 heel-base, (7) Ballist-Cast #721 (identical to the old H&G #121) heel-base, (8) NEI #214 heel-base, (9) NEI #213 heel-base, (10) NEI #215 heel-base.

This may be the largest collection of different 41LC moulds anywhere.  If anyone wants a copy of an article I wrote on loading and shooting the 41LC, e-mail me at  harryo@tconl.com

Wanted to mention to you that 777 has been showing some promise...still not a true "smokeless" loading but cleaner than Pyrodex or Black in this use.   Will expand the solid based heeled bullets enough to get the job done and seems to expand the hollow based bullets just as well as black....but am getting some indications (case life) that pressure may be a bit higher than I'd hoped for.

Thanks for the information.  I have not tried any of the newer BP substitutes.  Since I found a source of Swiss BP, I have not seen a reason to do so.  Swiss is much cleaner than GOEX.  Accuracy is no different, but you can shoot Swiss a lot longer before having to run a patch down the bore or clean the gun.
