buffalo classic front sight
« on: March 29, 2010, 08:04:24 AM »
I was wondering if anybody knows how much elevation is gained at 100 yards  by each different sight height.  If i load 50 or more grains of 4198 powder with a 300 grain bullet point of impact is about a foot high. I need to buy different height sight but dont know which one. Thanks  edk

Remember Ratio and Proportions from grade school?? ;D   12 inches is to 300 feet as X inches is to 3 feet(distance between front and rear sight) which means either you go up 12/100 inches with the front or down the same amount with the rear or do 1/16 inch on both. This is just an example with a 3 foot sight radius. Adjust the 0.12 inches for sight radius. Double the sight radius, double the height change of the sights.

Hope this helps
