Source for lead in OKC, OK
« on: August 25, 2009, 04:20:15 AM »
Just an FYI for you Okies, I was over at Standard Iron the other day and inside the warehouse (the roll up doors on the south side of the brick building) they have buckets of lead. Not sure on the cost, but what they charge for other metal is so cheap I'm sure it is a deal. I have no connection with them, just a good source for general metal at a VERY low cost. They are over on Reno just east of where I-235 and I-35 split up East of downtown OKC.

Now I wish I had driven to OKC instead of flying.  Maybe week after next...
You should have said something; I didn't know I had struck a nerve.

There's several scrap yards over there that may or may not have it on any given day.
My father-in-law used to have a salvage yard and he sold to whoever had the best price that day.
They do sell to the public. You can find stuff cheap sometimes.
I have a buddy who runs a little welding business on the side. He buys lots of scrap from them.
You'd be surprised at some of the really nice stuff people call scrap these days. ???
