phone bill scam

wife went to pay the phone bill an asked me what the extra charges are.
found a company called my billing service inc-vmail mthly fee has been billing me for v-mail since last june. Normally I just look at the amount due and pay it. After wife got done with the service rep they knocked $84. and change off the bill. They told her she had to call the company and tell them svc was not asked for or desired and remove it. AT&T says they have run into this a lot, but the customer has to call the co. and tell them not interested.
I was thinking about showing up at their door with a bunch of Good Ole Boys and help them remodel their office. 
I'am with at&t dont know if this happening with other co's.

This happened to me 2 months ago on our land line phone. Our bill was up $15 from our normal bill. The extra charges were for Directory Assistants Co.( which we never asked for or used ). I called the telephone company and the lady tells me that they get many of these complaints every month about these extra charges. I asked how this can happen without having our permission. She tells me that telephone company have no control of this because the FCC lets these blood sucker companies into your phone companies. She told me the only way to stop this is to call your phone company and have these services taken off and to always watch your phone bills carefully. I filled charges against this company through our State Atty. Generals Office. It probably won't do any good.
Makes you wonder how many $$$ they ripped off from people that don't check there bills.

  At one time i had the home and cell phone with AT&T. All kind of problems with the cell phone bill. I dropped AT&T and switched everything to Verizon. Not really sure they are much better. . Did give me a lot of satisfaction to tell AT&T what to do with there phone service though.
