Beretta 92F, and no Ser#
« on: August 19, 2010, 05:16:24 AM »
I just bought a beretta 92f. looks to be (from 1 to 10) a 9.5. Black in color, Decocker left and right safety. I can't find a ser#. Other examples show the # on left side of frame toward the front. There is a stamping, on the frame, in front of the disassemby lever, top of trigger gurad, is "Colorado State Police logo" . Right side frame is stamped "made In Italy". No trident stamping on the barrel.

Is this a real Reretta? Or did I buy a fake.

Postscript; the stamping on the frame
With the best of regards,

Sounds like a CIA drop gun.  The serial # should be on the side of the slide and and below on the opposite side of the frame.  Take the grips and check the frame under the grips, some of the early M9's had it there also.
