Bushnell Banner scopes?
« on: March 31, 2010, 06:28:38 AM »
Has anyone ever used any of the Bushnell Banner Shotgun scopes on a Handi? If so what did you think? The prices looked very attractive.I just don't want to have a problem with durability. The only scopes that I ever had a problem with was on my .357 Handi. It was a Pentax game seeker. It was the 1.75-5 model.I really liked the scope other than I had 2 of them do the same thing. The reticle turned  in both of them. Both times it was while shooting .38 Special+p out of it!I would think that that scope wouldn't have had that problem shooting .38s?I have since replaced it with a Burris timberline 4x.

Banners are great budget scopes, but you'll need high or extra high rings to clear the hammer unless you modify the hammer.

I have a couple 2X - 7X and they work just fine. I have several other Banners, but these are shot gun scopes. I have one on a 44 Mag Handi and one on a 22 rim fire. I also have one on my 444, but have not had it out yet.

I have used the 1.4-4.5x32 wide angle Banner on my NEF 30-30 barrel to drop 2 deer, both at 75 yds and a fox at 40 yds.
A kid used it to drop a bobcat at 65 yards.
It has a 50 yd parallax, which you only notice at the range.
Had it on a 22 but the crosshairs are kind of thick for 22 shooting.
I also have 4-12xAO and 6-24AO Banners
