Just got off the phone with T/C. They say the MT is threaded on, and once installed is NOT removable without damaging barrel. I asked her [custom shop] about what adhesive if any is used, and also was a 'hot brake-cold barrel' shrink fit performed during assembly. She said she did not know. I asked to speak to someone that knew. She said "unfortunately none of our technicians have phones.....".
Oh well. Time to get out the torch and barrel vise. I'll try 'some' heat and torque. Don't really care if I damage the Muzzzle Tamer but want to preserve the integrity of the barrel.
Otherwise, spin the lathe and hand me the scalpel!
My friend's lathe is a large Colchester, a 15" x [really long bed] used for barrels as long as my leg. however the spindle bore is about 2 1/8" ID, and as large as that is it will not quite clear the breech end of a Contender barrel if I attempt to hold that end inside the chuck/spindle area. Looks like a hack saw and file job unless I fit a "spider" onto the muzzle end of the barrel so I can true the bore and cut/crown precisely.
