Backup guns going to be used
« on: November 13, 2003, 05:40:11 AM »
Have a pair of Ubeti wheelguns I got as backups/loaners.  Figured I might as well shoot them in an entire match.  Will be doing  that next week-end.  It will be interesting to see if I notice any difference--main guns are RV and these Colt clones.

:D  Ranger, ya might oughta' leave them colt types alone, they'll make ya think them Roogers is just "Brick's on Sticks"   :)   I gotta pair of Roogers, and yes they shoot right where they're pointed when the hammer falls, an no, I ain't had a lick o trouble with them except leading, and that went away when I started using "Black" in them an' yes they're dependable as day and tough as a tank; but, they just ain't that sleek "Oh, Yeah!" of the colt types.  So if'n you wanna keep likin' them Roogers, ya better leave them Colt's alone!!    (What wuz it you said you'd take fer'em?? :) )

Who knows?  Might even hit a target or two.  Let you know how they work out.
What I ought to do is take one of each and see if I can tell the difference during a match.

I don't think you'll have any trouble noticing the difference
Having a little variety if fun, but I keep wanting to shoot the match twice!!

Well, got to give my Uberti's a work-out this past week-end.  They worked well.  I didn't notice a difference in grips from my RV's but did notice that the sighting was different.  Smaller slot at the rear and thinner front sight.  Not bad, just different.  Big Ed's leather worked well and, all in all, was pleased.
We did drown out on Sun so only got a couple of stages in but those, along with the Sat match, gave me adequate time with them.

Guess now I'll have to use one of each and see if I can tell any difference in a head to head match-up.

Ranger, when you forlks get rain, you don't mess around!!  I hope every thing there is ok.  Sorry ya didn't get to shoot the rest of the match.  I've got RV's, Colts and Clones, and when it comes to just shooting and having a good time, I grab the clones most often.  On those rare occasions when I get a little full of myself, and think I want to "compete" it'll be the RV's every time.  To me, they're all different, but all fun!!
Hope ya have better weather next month!
