anyone fishing for grass carp?
« on: January 28, 2010, 04:04:10 AM »
I have a 36 acre watershed lake on my property that was built in the early 80s. At that time it was recommended to stock grass carp for plant control. The water stays so muddy that plant growth has never been a problem. Now it is recommend to get rid of them. Some that I have seen in the lake are now approaching 3 foot plus in length. It is my understanding that they can grow to  80 lbs. or so. What are some fishing techniques for grass carp?

Better have your drag set light and keep your rod tip up---I have hooked into some the size you describe and most of them spooled me.  Fun though!!
