41 magnum jacketed bullets
« on: March 29, 2010, 01:14:48 PM »
I recently bought a Blackhawk in 41 magnum. I decided from the start to shoot cast bullets out of it and haven't changed my mind but have tried lately to find some jacketed bullets for it just to see if some were out there. I can't find anything and have tried all the likely sources. Does anyone else have the same luck finding them? I noticed on Midway that even the Remington ones were seasonal runs only. Thanks, Charlie

Keep your eye on this forum's reloading classified section. I missed an offering of some Speer and Hornady bullets the other day. I made a great buy on 300 plated bullets last November. Really tho, you might be fine with the array of cast bullets available. I check my Midway wish list at least once a month.

I think I'll add some Hornady XTP's to my wish list on MW USA too. I want some just because.

Jacketed bullet? What that?  Do they make those for a 41 magnum?

I like the Hornady XTP's when I can get them, but because of that. I shoot more hard cast bullets anymore, I can get them any time.

Seems more and more they are dropping in sales and in number of choices that one has.

If you want to shoot a good quality bullet for the money get yourself 1K of the Remington 200gr SJHP's , 1K of Starline cases, a couple of pounds of 110 or 296, your favorite LP primer, and your set. The load I shoot is 20.5grs of 296 under the above mentioned bullet and uses Win-WLP primers. It runs right at 1300fps form my Redhawk and is very smooth and accurate out to 100yds.

Good luck with yours, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
