Im not sure what you mean when you say the sights wont line up. My brother had a problem with his 7400 (see my post here titled Cant sight in a new 7400). Remington replaced his stock with a synthetic 1100 stock which was not a Monte Carlo style stock. Your question about using the stock with a scope, I am assuming, is directed at the fact that the 1100 stock may not be a Monte Carlo style stock
?
In my opinion, the 7600 performs better with a regular style stock for open sights, and it performs better with a scope using a Monte Carlo stock. If your primary purpose will be to use a scope, then stick with the Monte Carlo stock and use a different height front sight (assuming that your problem is similar to my brothers) to get your open sights on line.
I personally dont like having both types of sights. My 7600 is set up to be used with a scope; Monte Carlo stock and the open sights are completely removed. My scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5 to 5x mounted on the lowest rings Leupold makes. Im not worried about needing another sight on the gun because the gun itself will most likely fail before the scope does! That said, I am currently in the market for a back-up/foul weather 760/7600 carbine that will carry a regular stock with ghost ring (aperture) sights
