Comments on my TC Classic 22LR rifle
« on: April 07, 2010, 07:32:43 AM »
I have this TC Classic 22Lr stored away in the back of my gunsafe for sveral years, and now someone is trying to trade me out of it.  I can't find out much about value and would like to have some idea as to it's worth.  It is like new condition.  does anyone have an opinion of value?  Thanks,  Wallacem

I had one several years back. I seem to recall paying around $300 for it. I'm not sure I've ever owned a rifle that was manufactured as poorly as it was. Even with Burris Signature rings and the max offsets in both front and rear rings it could not be brought to POA at 25 yards. I seem to recall it was still almost a foot from being zero'ed at 25 using the max offsets.

I'm sure TC would have made it right but the groups at least what few I was able to actually catch on my huge target stand were nothing to brag on. I took it back to the dealer who sold it to me and told him it was his problem and traded it on something else.

I had really high hopes for it as I really liked the looks and feel but after that experience I've written off TC for other than their old muzzle loaders for me personally.

My best guess would be it should go for around $300 if you can find someone who wants one.

Yup, I paid around $295 for mine years ago.  My 1st one was the most accurate .22 I ever owned but was so tight it jammed constantly.  TC took it back and sent me #2, it was not as accurate but jammed less until the extractor chipped the chamber.  TC took it back too and sent me their new model.  This one does .5" at 50 yds with the best ammo (not as good as the 1st) but not too shabby, and functions perfectly.  I almost sold it for $300 last year, had a buyer but I decided to hang on to it so if yours is in nice shape you should get that.  Good luck.

Thanks guys, I was already guessing the $300 range before asking here.  I feel good about it now.  This one is an early model just after they came out.  It does shoot pretty good, I have just not used it, and I am trying to cut down on the ones gathering dust.  Thanks again, this is the greatest site, and a world of knowledge hanging around.  Wallacem in Ga
