Thanks for the info.
I am looking at getting a new barrel for my 308 Survivor. My son wants to go deer hunting this year on the youth hunt. He does not like shooting the 308 because of the recoil, and the Ultra Varmint I have is 223. I have shot deer with a 223 and Nosler Partitions, but I want a little more bullet size. The max range will be kept under 100 yards. I would like to get a caliber that I already reload. I am having a hard time deciding between 357 mag, 44 mag, or 45LC since I have pistols in those calibers, and they would all make fun plinkers. I have read the posts on the 357 Mag to 357 Max and was just wondering if anybody had shot the 454 in 45LC. I had looked at SAAMI pressures of the 454 load that I am shooting now which is 52,600 CUP and the pressure of the 308 is 59,800 CUP. H&R also offers a 500 Smith and Wesson barrel that handles the 51,000+ CUP, unless they use different materials for barrels pressure should not be a problem. How is the 45LC/410 accuracy and velocity with the excessive bullet jump.
