Best buy finger glove
« on: March 12, 2010, 04:43:10 AM »
Hi Yàll. I was wondering if anyone can give sound advice on a good quality finger glove.
I prefer to shoot 3 under and the glove I have i find is too thin on the finger tips. I don`t like finger tabs!
For awhile I tried a regular leather roping glove but....just was`nt the same you know.
So whats a good brand name out there.
My Chek-Mate TD Recurve is 62lb at 28"

Can't help you, I shoot a tab.  Tried gloves a time or two, but they ended up pinching my fingers.

The problem with a tab is that I shoot with my fingers 3 under.
I find much more accurate this way.

Hello Huntsman, The best glove I have used is made by Alaska Bowhunting Supply, it's the model with the Cordovan finger tips. This glove takes a while to break-in but once you get there it will last for years. I had a Damascus glove and the finger tips were really thin, I gave it to a friend of mine that was just getting started in trad archery.
I also shoot 3-under and switched over to a tab last year. It took me a while to get comfortable with the tab but once I did my shooting improved.

GOOD SHOOTING!

Slufoot, Thanks for the link. Looks like either the Down Under glove or the SuperGlove - Color Mix Up in the Garage Sale section.
Cheers  :)

I bought the Berlin Deerskin Archery Shooting Glove from 3 rivers archery, it works great for me.

Redhawk, I just looked at the Berlin and the Demascus and I think the are very similar I think you will enjoy it. The first thing I do with mine is heat it up with a hair dryer and wax the fingers with string wax. Seems to soften them a little more to my liking.

E. W. Bateman  cordovan glove from thenockingpoint.  If you have tender fingers cordovan is my pic. With this leather you should not need inserts. Very tough initially, so just work it with your fingers, bend, fold, roll, bend, fold, roll...  shoot a lot at close range. Takes a little bit but once its broke in you will have a glove that is goig to be with you for a long time. Also traditional cordovan from 3 rivers is good as well. Also the Big Shot from americanleathers is decent not as painless but good.
