17 Mach II....got an 'itch' for one...

I think I'll look for a rifle barrel for my G2. I've taken a few ground squirrels out of a custom Ruger 10/22[made into a 10/17] in Montana. Definately more POP than a 22LR! I've shot thousands with 17HMR, 17Ackley Hornet, and 17 Mach IV, but the little Mach II is a fun round on it's own.

Any reports here on the 17M2 in your Contender pistol/rifle??

Love mine.  Mine's a Super 14 SS pistol with 4x Leupold scope.  Target on left is Eley, right is CCI.  Shot these the other week, on a windy, cold day up here in PA.  5 Shots at 100 yards each.  Not bad for a pistol eh?  It outshot my Marlin 25MN 22 mag that same day by far.

 I had one in a Savage rifle and when my son got through shooting at his target he would shoot the staples out. I watched him do it several times at 25 yards , great little round IMO...bull

I shoot both the Mach2 and the 17HMR in 14inch pistol barrels and love them both. The Mach2 seems to have the edge in accuracy but the 17HMR is nothing to sneeze at accuracy wise.

Love the 17MACH2! Out of my 14" factory barrel I'm running almost 2000 FPS MV compared to my 14" 22L.R. at a little over 1200 FPS MV. Accuracy is outstanding! I've taken a lot of small game with mine. I would never let my 22LR go, but do prefer the MACH2 over them.
