Got back this evening about 6:30.
Trip went fine.
Had a little rain this morning just out of Boston but not bad.
Just enough to get the van dirty.
Right at 1100 miles round trip.
About 9 hours up, stopped a few times to walk around.
About 10 hours back.
Stopped for supper so the wife didn't have to fix it when we got home.
My old 98 Chevy full size high top conversion van ran like a top.
Got just a tad over 16 mpg on the round trip.
Not bad for something that size.
Boston, what a mess!
One way streets, double parking, pot holes, more people in the street than on the sidewalk.
Opening night for the SOX and the Celtics played at home.
Nothing but a big party on NEWBURY street which is where the college is located.
It is also one of the main drags for all the kids as there is at least two other colleges on that same street.
Prices through the roof, and that's just the food and the cab ride!!!
Gas was running in the $2.70s to $2.90s.
College doesn't look like much but they have a very good rep.
No campus, just a couple of buildings.
Apartments run anywhere from $750.00 to $1000.00 a month.
Don't forget, that's for five years or more! $$$
We go the weekend of the 16th to the UNIVERSITY of VA. to check it out.
It's only two hours away.
It's a traditional college with a full campus.
Hope he likes it better than Boston!
We will just have to wait and see.
Some of the country was nice but mostly it was rocks and marsh.
Not really much to see.
Anyway, we're back and thanks to those that offered good tidings for our trip.
