P93 or P95
« on: February 25, 2010, 05:30:50 AM »
A local dealer has a used Ruger P93, it’s a nice firearm in excellent shape.
But he wants way too much for it at $375 What do you think is a fair price to offer.
The P95 is cheaper new. Which one is better?
I have tons of ammo and shoot 9mm pretty well.
It will mostly be used for armed security work. Nothing else I own is suitable.
I could buy a Glock for about $530. But...?

I really like my P95...  it is the new version with a rail, got it for under $300 NIB.  The only problem so far is finding a good holster, since most of the holsters out there were designed for the P95 without rail.

The Galco Cop 3 slot works great with my railed P95.

The P89 was my Dept.'s first semi auto. We went to the P94 later and it was a big improvement. I'd go with the P95, (we have since carried glock 22, and Sig P229. The Ruger was just as reliable.)

I just finished a pancake holster for a P95 for a friend of my brother. Very nice gun. It is the newer model with the rail. I'd take either it or the SR9 and be very happy. Just a matter of which trigger system you prefer.
