M 375, NIB
« on: April 17, 2010, 05:20:34 PM »
Had been drooling and whinning about not finding a Marlin chambered in 375 Win for a while. :(  Well, the sniveling is over! 8)  Went to the local gun show today and saw a new one setting on top of the box, $650.  Put my paw prints all over it then set it down and wandered the rest of the show.  Found a new Win. 94 in 7-30 Waters that I had been looking for for several years and got it for $475.  No box but every thing else for it.  Left with that and told myself not to worry about the 375, I would find a shooter for less. :-\  (Didn't work)  Kept thinking about it coming home and when my wife called from work, I told her about the 7-30 Waters.  She wants new living room furniture and we talked about that for the anniversary we have coming up on the 27th.  Done deal, she said is that all you saw at the gun show, told her about the 375 and she said go get it, you want it, do it.  God, I love that woman! :-*  Went back, found the table, yep, still there!  Offered the man 6 bills, he said 2 other guys were looking at it for 6 and you have the money now, it's yours.  Marlin booklet and JC Penny tag still on the lever, Marlin leather sling in the box and the price on the JC Penny tag, $129.99 :o  She's mine, all mine! ;D ;D  DP

Your wife got a sister? Never mind, I'd have to get rid of the one I got and she's sort of grown on me. Good deal on those two rifles. Good things come to those who wait.

New sofa and love seat for her for the anniversary, 2 new guns for me.  Fair enough for me 8).  Guess she forgot about the new 20" fancy tires and wheels for her SUV the first of the month :-\.  She keeps an eye out for me at garage sales and has made several great deals for me on guns and reloading gear.  Third wife, twice as good as the first 2 combined, gonna keep her happy.  (Don't think either of us would survive another "training period" with other mates!) ;D :D ;)  Ran 40 rounds through the 375 this morning and she's doing better than I was.  Need to put a scope on it to do some load developement and have a solid surface to shoot from.  Was using the ladder rack on the truck to shoot from, not the best set up.  Busted some rock free hand, but the rear sight is all the way up and still shooting about 1 1/2 inches low at 100 yd.  I like low power scopes on most levers, have Weaver K 2.5's on several of them, I don't do so good with open sights.  Have a peep on my 444 Marlin, may do the same with this one after getting a good load worked up.  DP
