I choked
« on: April 23, 2011, 01:01:41 PM »
Today I had a small Jake come in at 30 yards in some thick stuff and I got exited and I put about half the pattern in a tree about 10 yards away and got a second shot off but it missed. But I saw a total of 9 turkeys 4 hens and 5 bearded birds and I have 6 Saturdays to put a thunder chicken down.

Hunt turkeys long enough and that will happen. Not a big deal, just a good excuse to keep goin' out.

Me too. I have a Remington 1100 with a screw-in choke installed, but it will only shoot 2 3/4" shells. Max range with this set-up is 30-35 yards. I had a big gobbler come in at 40-45yds, and not getting any closer. Held a little high but still missed. Oh well, will just have to try harder next time. ;D
