Cold Steel Trailmaster - redo
« on: May 06, 2010, 03:20:19 AM »
Just got this one back from a custom knife maker.  I like the CS Trailmaster blade (this one is the old "carbon v").  It performs well for field tasks and camp chores both.  The handle was replaced with black canvas micarta and the edge is re-profiled to convex and shaving sharp.  The sheath is water buffalo.  It rides in pouch on my pack frame when I'm out and about.  I didn't like the factory rubber handle and this one is done in Randall "single finger" style finished only to 120 grit so it provides a good non-slip grip.  CS should have made them this way...
