I killed my first pistol deer this past friday afternoon sitting in a peanut field with rye/wheat/ryegrass around the edges.  About 5:20 had a fawn pop out and knew there had to be more.  Sure enough 5 more does came out and I picked the biggest doe.  Shot her perfectly and she ran on her hind legs about 10 yrds and collapsed.

Shot her about 80 yards out in the field.

Using a summing viper xls with the gun rest which helped out tremendously.

Already shot  two bucks this year with rifle so I have to hunt does now with the encore pistol.

congratulations! getting that first one under the belt really helps. now you know it can be done. you have the confidence to keep at it i hope.
i killed my second doe for the season this morning. the 30-30AI/G2/2x7 burris is a great deer setup.
these last two i've killed were offhand shots at 50 and 75 yards. i wrap my 1" nylon sling around my left elbow, and apply pressure to the forearm with my left hand. surprisingly steady! 8)

Congratulations!  Tell us more about the shot and what caliber you used.

Sorry about that.  It is a encore with 15 inch barrel in 7mm-08.  Shooting winchester nosler ballistic tips.  With a 2x7 burris.  I had the scoped on 7 power.  I had to wait a minute or so after they came out and let the other 5 get out of the way before i shot.

I dont get buck fever too much any more but my adrenaline was rushing this time knowing I was using the pistol.

I have shooting alot and feel confident past 100 yrds with this setup out of my box stand which will be a very steady rest compared to summit stand.

Good luck to yall!

Congratulations!
Hopefully this will be the first of many to come.
I know that first one is sweet. Enjoy.  Then get out and take a few more.

Congratulations!

Have you had a chance to shoot those factory loads over a chronograph?

I would be interested to know what kind of velocity you get with a 15"bbl.
