If anyone is interested there is a new Handi 30-06 at the Post Falls ID Cabela's for $199. Almost bought it but picked up a Savage instead. It's on the clearance rack.
Plain Jane model 22" with scope rail, not sights, and the plain brown stocks I think are referred to as the pallet stocks. Walnut stained hardwood of some sort.
