Yes,I have heard the same "rummer that Smith & Wesson, the owner of Thompson Center, is closing the custom shop and fox Ridge outfitters". A friend ordered a custom shop barrel and that morning; the sale person was told that they would not have a job in ten days.

I just got off the phone with T/C for a broken firing pin in my Encore, and the lady verified that the Custom Shop is closing, but it will be a little while before it happens. I asked if she could say why, and her response was that I should ask S&W!

That is one bad move on S&W's part!!!  I held out hope that T/C would remain intact after they sold to S&W BUT I knew it was a longshot!!
I hope my barrel I am waiting on will not be affected!!

Sad Sad News!!!

The TC custom shop / Fox Ridge is a shadow of what it once was.  I have been there several times over the years, and had a custom .50 cal. Hawken built back about 20 years ago (before the big fire).  Beautiful, hand built gun.  Now they pretty much just mess around with single shot pistol barrels.  Peoples tastes in guns change, and Remington isn't going to keep any product / service around if it ain't a money maker....
