TOPPER DELUXE CLASSIC years of mfg or frame prefix

before anyone starts raggin'-i looked in the faqs and can't find the years of manufacture or the frame prefix for the topper deluxe classic. need to know to try to find frame most likely to fit the barrel i bought. it could be fitted to my buff classic w/minimal work and won't work at all on an AX frame. don't really want to fit it to buff classic as i don't wanta hafta take gun apart every time i wanta shoot the other one. also-i know there's no guarantee it'll fit even with right prefix but think i may stand a better chance of no or little fitting if i find somewhat close year match. thanks for any help from anyone and have a good'en neighbors, bubba.

There aren't any separate build year codes for the TDC, it's just another H&R. There's no way of knowing when a barrel was made by the number on the underlug.

thanks tim. you'da man. guess i'll just keep tryin' til i find one that fits or til i give up and fit it to the ol' buff classic. would only take a little light filing to the locking lug. just kinda like havin' whole guns. thanks again and have a good'en neighbor, bubba.

Bubba, if this helps, and IIRC, they only started to make TDC's about 5-6 years ago. Perhaps other members might remember more closely when they were brought out....<><....

thanks msp. that's sorta what i wanted to know. thought they must be fairly recent. not up on h&r's and never had an h&r catalog but keep up with guns in general and don't recall ever seein' one in any ads or anything. only thing close that i've seen advertised is the "trap" gun with the nickel receiver and from what i understand it has a plastic rib? as the barrel nearly locks up on my buff classic, i will look for something a bit newer and try that.

Bubba my 20ga TDC is an HV = 2005 and I am pretty sure I got it in the second year of production, course that doesn't mean it wasn't sitting around in somebodys inventory for awhile
