Any experiene loading .357 bullets for .358 winchester?
« on: April 25, 2010, 04:54:34 PM »
Does anyone out there have experience loading .357 handgun bullets in the .358 winchester cartridge?  I've read a lot of comments on the net regarding using .357 bullets for light load target and plinking but I can't find any load data to support the use of such bullets.  I would really appreciate anyone's past experience with this load.  I've got some 158 grain jacketed bullets that I would like to load for target work - not sure where to start.

I'm shooting cast bullets out of my T/C 357 Herrett for practice loads. I have 2 Lyman manuals that list cast loads for the .358 Winchester, if you got bullets meant for a 35 Remington they should work.

I used to load a pile of them in the 356 which is about the same thing. A 158 cast with 8 grains of unique is a ball to shoot. recoil is about like a 22.
