Security Six Question,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

 I have a 6 inch SS security six that I puchased aftermarket grips for. The problem I am having is that the trigger pivot/take down is no longer covered by the grip on the right side and after a few shots, the pin starts working out. Is this normal and if not, what do I need to correct it? Do I need grips that cover it?

Obviously the pin needs to be covered to stay in place...that's why Ruger designed the grips that way.  If you can't find aftermarket grips that cover the pin, I'd recommend going back to the factory grips...if may not be as comfortable to shoot but at least you won't lose your trigger pin.

Ruger made "fat boy" grips for the SS at one time . They look like factory S&W target grips at a quick glance . The gun was sold with them . You might try the factory to see if they still have them as replacements for damaged stocks. I have them on my gun as it came with the gun new . In the mean time a piece of tape might hold the pin in while you shoot .

I really like my Hogue rubber grips on my Sec 6 4inch. And they hold the pin in.  If you are having trouble finding grips, I might have some old Pachmyr presentation rubber grips if you are interested. They were ok but I like the Houges much better with my smallish hands. PM me and I'll see if I still have those grips.

I've had a 4" since 1985 and put a Pachmeyer grip on it and have never looked back.  Good suggestions all!

I have a SS Security Six that came with Ruger oversize target grips.  I see similar grips for sale on ebay so you may want to look there.

I found some pachmayer presentation grips on clearance for the security six a while back at gun parts corp. (numrich)  I got them for my security six's and my redhawks.
