Model 94 sent back to factory
« on: March 07, 2010, 04:28:16 AM »
I was putting off doing this, especially after defending Taurus so much. I'm not giving up yet.

The mdl 94 with 5' ss barrel that I bought about a month or so ago was sent back Friday. It would shoot as accurate as any thing until about 50 rounds or so then it would start key holeing. Every bullet would put 1/2" long holes in paper and the barrel would be extremely leaded and the gun dirty. I would clean it and again it would be accurate for about 50 rounds or so, then key hole again and the groups would get to about 3 ft at 10 yards. I think it was shaveing lead as the bullet entered the forceing cone. I tried 4 diffrent types of ammo and got the same results every time.

I bought the S&W mdl 63 while in the gunshop sending the 94 sent back, we will see what happens. I really hope they fix it, as I do like the gun (when it shoots right)

I'd be scared to death to get a polish job from a random person, but maybe you'll get lucky and a gun lover will baby it real good.  I'm hoping and crossing my fingers for you.  good luck!

let us know in six weeks.

Well it only took 6 weeks, and it's back. They put a new barrel on it and it seems to be shooting pretty good. No cost to me, not even shipping. My son and I put about 200 rounds down it this after noon, accurate and no malfunctions, I'm Happy.............I ended up giving it to my son anyway. I had purchased the S&W 63, and a Taurus 4" 990 and still waiting on the gunshop to get in the S&W 617 so I have plenty of 22's.
