Gendoc,

Very nice work, they all look great.  The 45 120, what is the barrel length and have you got any range reports yet?  Last question on the 45 120, what, if any, recoil modifications have you done?

thanks

only thing i'm concern'd about in accuracy is... it puts 3 holes in the 5V circle @ 200yrds
as for recoil......the problem is mostly before you pull the trigger, its exciting !!
thought about renting a porta-toilet out back at the shoot'n platform  ;D
i've not noticed any rash recoil... only underwear rash. ::)   its fun and its only gonna get better  ;)

What is the weight on that tractor blaster? Looks like 29" and 5lbs to me. My kinda toy. I love Tamer stocks, though they do magnify the kick a bit. Wood is good, but plastic is fantastic.

gendoc, that's a set of Handis to be proud of......ya done good ;) ;) ;)  That '120 with the straight stock is scary.  My straight traditional muzzle loaders all kick like a mule with a heavy load.  My .30-30 336T with the straight stock kicks almost like my 45-70 pistol grip.  Perhaps I'm just becoming a recoil whimp in my old age ???

Got some fine lookin projects finished up there, gendoc!  I'm not a bettin man, but I'll take a guess on the 45/410.  I'm thinkin maybe 460 brass?  When I get some extra time I want to try some easy loads using that brass and my 45/410 barrel.  I've got a stock set like you have on your 45/120 on a 357 max, and the BC walnut and colored frame on my 22 Hornet.  Yer lookin good, keep posting on more projects.  DP

piezo-tran pressure test is 14,322 psi... right on the limit.
i've been lower and much higher in the test cell with no
signs of chamber failure with magna-flux tests or ultra-violet scans
yall remember that i still got 3/8" +/-  jump for pressure reduction
them 45/410's gotta healthy chamber depth...
and as always...... no 2 chambers or shoot'n irons are the same.
kinda like there operators.
but of course, i always use an sb2 for test'n  ;D

This is a handi project that I just finished. Its a 38 special rifle built from a 20 ga. Topper shotgun.
It is a newer model gun with the small firing pin and slim profile barrel.  You can't tell from the pic but it has a short 18 1/2" bbl. and the butt stock and forend were reshaped to take some of the thickness out of the grip and give it a different look and feel.  I tried a little green tint on the wood then steel wooled it down to the pallet wood in some places then put a couple coats of oil on it.  I don't know if I like the look just yet but I wanted to put it back together and shoot it so I left it this way for now.
The Bushnell trophy red dot is mounted on 30 MM rings that attach to milled dovtail cuts in the actual barrel.  The rifle barrel itself is a liner made from a prechambered 357 mag barrel you can get from Gun Parts Co. and turned to a close fit inside the 20 ga. barrel and epoxied to permanatly bond it inside.
How does it shoot ?  I don't know yet,  all I had laying around was a couple of old 38 spl. rounds and I fired them and everything was OK, but I need some bullets to load some hand loads to sight it in and experiment with it.  I wanted some XTP flat points or some good cast bullets w/ gas checks but neither is available locally, so next time I get to Cabelas or Bass Pro , both within a hour of me I will try and get some there.  I may at some point ream it to 357 max but I will wait and see how it does with a long 38 spl. chamber, it  will take brass upto 1.220 long as is now.    Jed

jedman, that is a cool project! I did something similar with my stocks, thinned them out considerably in the handle area. The green is... interesting, it's always fun to experiment. I work with epoxy a lot, had not thought of using it in this application, but I'm sure it'll work. I typically use West Marine, but this starts to go soft around 130-140 degrees, so I wonder if you used a high-temp epoxy?

Jed,

I looked at your profile when you said Bass Pro & Cabelas are within an hour's drive.  We both live in NW Ohio.  Do you shoot at the Sportsmans Club in Wauseon?  If so would like to see your new project when you are at the range.

Thanks for your replys,  The epoxy I use is called Power Poxy it is said to have 3500 psi bond strength and full strength upto 250 degrees.  I have made 7 rifles so far using the epoxied liner and have had zero problems, all the epoxy really does is hold the liner from moving the larger diameter chamber end cannot move forward from pressure when fired because the shotgun barrels bore diameter is smaller.
Bikerbeans,  I live in the Swanton area , I use to belong to Adams Coservation Club for years, but now have my own range here at home where I can shoot upto 200 yrds.
I would like to meet you and many of the other GBO members in OH and others, Do you mean the Sportsman Club on Co. RD. 14 ? If so I know where it is and go by the area quite alot .I could meet you sometime, use my E mail to contact me .  Thanks   Jed

Jedman
That looks good, color is interesting.
Last year I used one of the same 38 barrels to build 38 out of a rossi 12 gauge for a friend.
I used J B Weld to stick things together.
want to build one for myself...
