FINALLY got my 35 Whelen
« on: April 27, 2010, 11:25:51 AM »
The UPS man walked to the door with my 35W This afternoon. My heart nearly stopped. Why, it's only been almost 10 months since I sent it in for a new bbl., and of course a trigger job. JB in the bore and cleaned up real nice. When I sent it in, the trigger was 5#13 ozs. I checked it with the gauge and a snap cap. Quess what? The trigger is now 5# 13 oz. After 10 months you would have thought they had time to do the trigger. ::) I guess I'll call them and ask for a shipping label. What's another month or two?? ;D

Do your own trigger job, it is quit easy. The directions are explisit enough.

Fred.   That was the first thing that crossed my mind. I guess the principle thing is that they should have done it there, since I requested it. I just got off the phone, and they are going to send me a shipping label. I will definitely do the next one here at home. Thanks for the reply.

Congrats on the new barrel, bout time, eh!! That also means the new Whelen production has started.  ;D

My suggestion when ordering trigger jobs is to put a tag on the trigger guard so at least the gunsmith will see it even if no one else does.  ;)

So if I'm understanding correctly, they are gonna start making Whelens again, and offering accessory barrels without special order?? :o If so, cool!!!!!!! I had to sell my Whelen a while back, and I wish I never had.

That was the plan as of Dec '09, keep an eye on Bud's, Mississippi members should see complete firearms first.
