Just purchased a new Kahr PM9 with Crimson Trace
« on: April 08, 2011, 05:39:15 AM »
Hi Guys:

I just picked up a new Kahr PM9 with the CT on triggerguard. I should be putting it through it's paces soon. I really like the CT on the triggerguards, I have them on my model 27 .40 cal Glock and my Ruger .380 LCP. The only problem is finding a holster that fits with the CT attached for the Kahr.

What I really want is a owb clip on holster. The ONLY one I can find is the Galco paddle speedmaster. It is really made for the GW9, that means the 4in barrel compared to 3in. in the PM9. And at $70.00 bucks, it ain't cheap. LOL  ::)

Tim at Holland Holster Co. made my LCP, CT holster and it is GREAT. But he doesn't have the Blue gun yet for the PM9.  :-[

In my other 9's I favor the Cor-Bon 115's at about 1350 FPS. I will probably do a 200 round break in with some Blazer 9mm I have laying around.

Any other insight about a clip, or paddle OWB holster please let me know.

PAH,
check the top of the forum for the sticky notes. there are a couple of websites listed in there, that may be what your looking for.
we will be looking forward to a range report from you on how the PM9 wrings out.
as for clips, Kahr clips are limited to factory units... far as i know ... not any aftermarket one's that i know of.
but if you DO find a source for them, let us know that too.

Hi Guys:

Well it was a bright and sunny day, so I snuck out for an hour at lunch time to my local range to start the break in of my Kahr PM9.

Well all total I ran over 150 rounds through it without a burp. It ate over 100 rounds of cheap Blazer ammo, some Gold Dots, and about 25 hot, Cor-Bon 115 grn HP's. The Cor-Bon are very accurate and hit hard at 1350 fps. and 466 ft/lbs.

The only thing that I can sort of fault is that with the Crimson Trace on the triggerguard, it takes up some space INSIDE the triggerguard. I have to squeeze the trigger with the front pad of my index finger. If I squeeze the trigger at the web it sort of pinches a bit. I do have sort of big hands, but just take that as a FYI when using the CT.

Now the main spring on the slide is STRONG. It takes two men and a boy to hold the slide back and pop the retaining clip when you want to take it apart for cleaning.  :P

Besides that, the workmanship is excellent, trigger pull long but smooth, and the lil gun is accurate. I shot at 7 yards, 15 yards, and 25 yards. Even at 25 yards, no Crimson Trace, I can keep six out of six shots in the chest area.

This is a quality firearm. It is right up there with my Colts and S&W's. It's not cheap, but  you can bet your life on it.

These are Kahr factory mags, but about $10 ea less than direct from Kahr.
http://www.cdnninvestments.com/kahrmags.html

I got CW40 Kahr mags from Davidson's for a $32.50 ea.   My dealer said he could get them from his supplier for $30 ea.

Shipping was about the same for all.

Don't know of any after market mags for Kahr's.

HI Guys:

In my search for a holster, I found The Holster Store on ebay. I bought a clip on IWB brown holster for the crimson trace trigger guard setup for my PM9 for $38.00 delivered. This is an everyday price.

I got to say, it is a quality product. The stiching and leather seem every bit as good as my Galco and Bianchi holsters.  ;D

Check them out if you are looking for a new holster for your ccw.
