there is a spt. goods store in Mobile on I-65 and the Hiway 98 junction that had a few the last time I stopped in, but that was back in the spring. Can't remember the name of the joint only stop by once or twice a year on my way to the Redneck Riviera(Gulfport-Orange Beach).

i finally found a great place. it is in tuscaloosa (ROLL TIDE) a place on hwy 69 called outdoors unlimited inc. they were very helpful and went out of there to get me set up with the encore pistol. if you are ever in the area stop in and give them a try. woods and water also carries them but they dont know there a-- from a hole in the ground.

Well, wonderful that you finally got set-up..what chambering did you settle on?
I will be carrying my Contender in .300 Whisper this Saturday (opening day in Ms.).  I hope to put some venison in the freezer!  I will give them a try the next time I am in the area.  I was going to recommend a joint in Hattiesburg (I believe it was called Buck and Bass..or something of the sort),but haven't been there in forever..may not even be in business anymore and I wasn't sure if you wanted to deal outta state.  Roll Tide (and greater expectations next year)!!!!

I have just finished loading 80 rounds of the Hornady 95 SST for my Savage 111 rifle.  I used data from the Hodgdon Manual #27for the 95 Partition and the load is very accurate from my rifle.  It lists a starting charge of H4895 at 33 grains and a max of 35 grains for 2990 fps. from a 22" barrel.  I'm sure there are loads out there that offer less muzzle flash..but will take some experimenting..maybe some of the more experienced .243 pistol loader can help you out.
