Hunting at your camp
« on: April 02, 2004, 12:27:40 PM »
When you go hunting at your camp do you bring a camp gun. What do you bring for a camp gun??  Something to grab for quick fire power incase gentle ben or a mountainlion or coyote pays a visit.    BigBill

Most of the time I kept an sks ready to rock n roll but lately I bring an 8MM semi auto for a camp gun.  I tend to be a bit more careful with the bears and mountainlions that are more around now.

BigBill: one of my favorites is an old 8mm - either my Yugo 48A or an even older CZ24.  Howzya?.  Mikey.

My camp gun is my hunting gun...I hunt in a shotgun only area so I always have my H&R 12GA Ultra Slugger at the ready in case we have an unwelcome visitor that becomes unruly or violent.

what ever gun I happen to be using for hunting at the time.  45/70
or  30-30.  Used to take a 20 gauge shotgun,  but  stopped cause it
ws just something more I would have to pack in.   only thing
I would worry about where I hunt is bears  (Black)  I think a 30-30
or 45/70 will  pretty much take care of that.
30-30....45/70...... does anything else matter?
