I ran about 15 rounds through it today off the bench. I believe it is a MOA rifle using Remington factory ammo but I need to go back and shoot it more when I'm not tired. No signs of problems of any kind. The recoil was much less than I thought it would be. It was less than the .300 Weatherby Mark 5 I was shooting.

Yes, the 300 magnums produce a sharper recoil. I had a Brno model 602 in 375H&H and I could fire it of a bench all day. My mate had the same rifle in 300 Win Mag and I could only handle a few shots off the bench.

Im not much of a Remington fan but after I used a couple of them I am impressed. I fired hundereds of 308 win ammo from a model 7 with NO ejection problems and without cleaning the bolt face. Just as reliable as any model 70 or Ruger 77 CRF action. A remington 700 bolt rifle owner must remember to keep the bolt face clean and make SURE to cycle the action fully. Lots of practice is needed to cycle the action when under pressure. I would not hesitate to take a 700 remington into a Safari situation or Alaska in factory form.
