Ejector Problems

Looking for some insight on a problem with my brothers rifle. It is a .223 with an ejector barrel. It will eject unfired cartridges but will not eject a fired case. The ejector doesnt even move with a fired case in there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx

While you're wandering around the FAQs, have a look at conversion from ejector to extractor.  In my opinion, and thanks to Tim, it's the only way to go.  I had two ejectors and both gave problems when least wanted.  Now, all my Handis are extractor.

Yup, just a good cleaning and abit of polishing fixed mine.

And +1 to that too,,! Grind that shelf off, it's easy, works great, and I don't hafta chase brass.
  This "need a quick second shot" stuff is hooey! The Boy took a second connecting shot last fall with an extractor 7-08. Long story, but it was a bad bullet choice, shoulder shot didn't do it, but the second too the neck did  ;D

I had problems with my 30-06 not all the time but fired cases did stick now and then.I did take the ejector apart and found the spring was not in straight from the factory,I polished all parts re-installed it and never did have any more problem.I have a 243 cal. also ejector barrel man you have to cover the action otherwise the brass flys across about 5 ft. I like if you need a second shot in the winter time in cold weather

My 30-30 ejector did the same thing when it was new. I chucked up a brass chamber brush in a cordless drill and spun it in the chamber for a few seconds and haven't had a problem since.
