32 H&R Amg Loads in Handi Rifle

I have a Handi Rifle chambered in 32 H&R Mag and I am trying to find  a good load for it.  I started with 85 gn XTP and a lot of different powders (2400, 4198, Blue Dot).  I got it down to about a 2" group w/ velocities in the 1200 to 1500 fps range.  I now want to use 100 gn Cast SWC.  I tried Lil Gun, Blue Dot and H110 and all I got was a collection of holes in the target.  All the loads were hotter than the suggested max for pistols.  I would like to get a velocity of about 1200-1300 fps.  I want to use this rifle for small game and short range varmits.
Any suggestion on where I should start on a load for this thing.  My thoughts now are to use pistol powders and just load it like a hot pistol.  Ideas?

Load a Pistol load and you will get about 250-300 fps more in the rifle barrel with the lead bullets.

Go with Unique,Speer shows a 98 grain at 814 in a 5 inch barrel. That should get you to  your level of performance    Doug

Start with the pistol load data and find something that works at 25-50yd. As you increase the velo you may overpower the alloy of the cast and throw wild, so back off. There is nothing wrong with a sub-sonic .32, witness the British Rook & Rabbit rifles and calibers. For your high-steppers you always have your jacketed bullets.
Even so, after you get some satisfaction with cast bullets you can find a combination to increase velo. Often it is by changing the alloy and/or the bullet dia. Jacketed bullet criteria is not entirely applicable to lead bullets and people often err by trying to get accurracy from too small a diameter.

Were'd you get the 32 mag barrel? I have one from a stub project Trotterlg did as a trade a while back. They are a pretty rare breed. I have'nt shot mine much yet and have only shot cas pistol loads.

I will post the loads that i use in my 32H&R mag Handi in the morning . I am at work and am not sure right off the top of my head I have 2 that work good one is for IIRC 60gr cast and the other is a 93gr cast. Kurt

that should  be a fun barrle    -- a 303 barrel  and a 22 hornet  ejector  and a stub... am I close.....
Have you tried a heavy bullet like 150 gr lead   --- I read someone did that with  a 30 Luger rifle...
